By His Stripes I Was Healed

“Put these in your ears,” she said. “You’re going to need them. It gets loud in there.” Dutifully, I rolled the foam earplugs between my fingers and slid them into my ear canals. I lay down on the table and placed my head in a cage. Pillows buffeted my head on either side to help me remain still.
“Are you ready?” she asked. I uttered a muffled yes as she disappeared from the room. Slowly, the table I was lying on moved into position. Suddenly, I found myself within the claustrophobic confines of the MRI tube. A voice rang out and told me that the testing was about to commence. Immediately I appreciated those earplugs as the machine belched impolitely all around me.
Less than two weeks later, the doctor called to confirm the need to see an endocrinologist. It took months before I was able to get an appointment. They were not fear filled months because the doctor did not give a sense of urgency. Sitting in the examining room with my wife Kellie, we waited for the top doc to arrive.
To my relief, the doctor had a great bedside manner. He quickly pulled up the images of the MRI on the disc I provided. “You have a chick pea sized tumor on your pituitary gland. It is not operable at the moment. However, we can give you some medicine that research shows shrinks these types of tumors. There are some side effects but I recommend you take it. In six months, you will come back and we will repeat the MRI to see where things are. We can go from there.”
Going in to the appointment, I knew that there was a tumor there. My primary care physician had already told me about it. The other thing that I knew was that God was going to intervene. I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that He was going to get rid of this thing for me. Therefore, I opted not to take the medication.
Kellie and I have been on a journey of healing since the day we met. We have prayed for physical healing in countless people. It is a learning process, but we continue to see breakthrough in the area of healing. I knew it was going to hold true for me as well.
During Christmas last year, the finances came through for us to take a trip out to Charis Bible College in Colorado. Every Thursday they conduct a healing school. People from all over the world travel there to receive healing. Our trip was in March. In the interim, Kellie and I prayed and other believers laid hands on me for my healing.
The trip to Charis was amazing. We had some awesome encounters with God individually and then during prayer at healing school. I had a true peace and confidence that God healed me. I was anxious for April to come so that I could have the repeat MRI confirm what I already believed in my heart.
I returned to the specialist in May. He came in to the same examination room and called up the MRI results. “So, they don’t see the tumor any more. You did have a tumor, right?” he said as he called up the earlier MRI. I was bursting on the inside with sheer joy! In that moment, God’s love for me became all the more real. The bible’s promises became reality as I saw a tumor bow to the mighty name of Jesus.
Are you in need of a miracle today? Jesus is no respecter of persons. If He did it for me, He will do it for you.
